In the beginning in Oxford.
In the beginning, Jeffery Hunter decided to attend Miami University. He then asked my mother to join him, and together they began their lives in Oxford in the 1960s.
My mother left school while my father studied to become an architect, and during that time, I was born.
From there, my mother and father managed apartments and continued building their lives in Oxford until I was about four years old.

Miami Students as Babysitters
Miami students were my babysitters, and they had a big influence on me. Life around Miami always felt like one big family. Even though my relatives lived about three hours away, I realized at a young age that you could love and care for others like family, and that unity was just as real.
One of the students I remember babysitting me even had a pet monkey named Alice. The funny thing is—I can’t remember the student’s name, but I’ll never forget Alice.

Now & How
. Now & How
Even though I stopped living in Oxford, I have always lived on its outskirts. Oxford has always felt like home.
I began driving a school bus for social events for the sororities and fraternities at Miami University with a bus company out of Cincinnati. At the same time, I worked for the Hamilton School District from 2008 until I transitioned to driving for the Miami Red Line buses with First Transit in 2010. I stayed there until 2015, when the company lost its contract with the university.
Soon after, I returned to driving for Ross Local Schools, where I lived at the time, but I missed my Miami students terribly.
Knowing how high the demand for rides was—and understanding the importance of feeling safe—I decided to start my own company. My love for Miami University has only grown, and I wanted to create the best transportation experience possible for my students. With women-owned and women-driven service—supported by a few dedicated men—our goal is to provide safety, reliability, and care with every ride.

Our Promise
At Ven-Go, we believe transportation is more than just getting from one place to another—it’s about trust, safety, and peace of mind. That’s why we make these promises to every rider:
We promise to answer. Whether you call, text, or email, you will always hear back from us. Communication is at the heart of what we do.
We promise reliability. Our drivers will contact you as soon as they receive your order, arrive on time, and keep you updated if anything changes.
We promise safety. All of our drivers are mature, experienced, and knowledgeable about Oxford and the surrounding areas. We are women-owned and women-driven, supported by a few dedicated men, with one goal: helping you feel safe and cared for.
We promise to make it right. If there’s ever an issue with your ride, we will listen, correct it, and refund when necessary—because your trust means everything to us.
With Ven-Go, you’re not just booking a ride. You’re choosing reliability, care, and a company that treats you like family.
Sincerely, April Garrison.
